1. Definition

Explanation Text is a text that is used to explain the way (process) something happens, especially those related to natural phenomena, the scientific world or socio-culture. The goal is to tell the reader or listener how something happened. An explanation text usually comes from the author's question regarding "why" and "how" to an existing phenomenon.

2. Purpose of Explanation Text

The purpose of the Explanation Text is to explain the processes that occur in the formation of something or activity related to natural, social, scientific, cultural, and other phenomena that aim to explain why and how it happened.

3. Characteristics of Explanation Text

Derived from the author's question regarding "why" and "how" to an existing phenomenon

lifted from the phenomenon, the focus of the material is not on the object or the person, but on events or events that occur to that person or thing.

 Use a noun phrase

4. Generic Structure Explanation Text

A general statement

Namely the introduction of an event that we will tell. Or a general description of the event. In a general statement contains a general explanation of the phenomenon to be discussed, it can be an introduction to the phenomenon or an explanation.

A sequenced of explanation

It is an explanation of why and how it happened. In this section the writer can write more than one paragraph. A sequenced of explanation contains an explanation of the process why this phenomenon can occur or be created.

A squenced of explanation

in the form of answers to the author's 'why' and 'how' questions when creating an explanation text. In squenced of explanation it may consist of more than one paragraph.

Closing

Namely the conclusion or conclusion of the story. Actually, closing is not listed in the generic structure of the Explanation text, but most people assume that the last paragraph of an Explanation text is closing, even though it is part of a squenced of exploration which contains the final steps described in the squenced of explanation section.

Cause And Effect

Definition

Cause and effect text is a type of paragraph that contains the author's analysis of cause and effect. This paragraph begins with the causes which are outlined at the beginning of the sentence and is then drawn to a general conclusion which is the result of the described causes.

Generic Structure

The cause and effect paragraph has the following structure or generic structure:

1. Have a main idea on the topic sentence which will be covered in the whole paragraph.

2. Having supporting details or supporting sentences in the form of causes.

3. End with a concluding sentence or a conclusion in the form of a result.

Language Form

The cause and effect paragraph has the following style.

1. Using tenses that are dependent on the context of the time in a sentence, in other words, can be the past tense, present tense, or future tense.

2. Many use verbs or verbs in active and passive sentences.

3. Using transitions such as due to, because, consequently, as a result, and causes.

4. Using a third person point of view.

Example Dialog

Salsha : Hi Reta, why are you running on the field?

Reta : I didn’t do my homework, so the teacher punished me.

Salsha: Why didn’t you do your home work?

Reta : Due to my wrong time table, I forgot to do the homework.

Salsha : Oh my God, I didn’t finish my homework either, because last night I over slept.

Reta : Go back to class and finish it right now.

My Hope & Planning

 Assalamualaikum 

Hello everybody, on this occasion, I will write down my hopes and plans for this new year.

My hope in 2021 is

1. can move up a grade with good results

2. able to be a better person

3. My mom's work business could be bigger and more successful

4. Be more diligent in fulfilling worship

5. can buy an album and lightstick my idol  /cry/

and my planning in 2021 is that I want to study harder, that's all possible, because I don't really know what to do
